State-certified contractors are no longer required to register with the Pinellas County Construction Licensing Board. To verify the license status of a state-certified contractor, visit MyFloridaLicense.com and use the Verify a License link. Only state-certified contractors with a status of Current, Active or Probation, Active are eligible to work in the state of Florida. Before hiring a contractor, verify that your contractor has valid General Liability and Workers’ Compensation insurance or Workers’ Compensation Exemption to protect you and any workers on your site. Any contractor working on or over water must also have USL&H insurance.

The PCCLB continues to govern County-certified contractors in a wide range of license classifications and specialties. Use the Contractor Search to find the credentials of all County-certified contractors. Most contractors have their own business. Journeymen are employees of a contractor. You cannot hire a Journeyman directly. All Journeymen must work under the supervision of a licensed contractor.

Contractors are required to have a license to work in any of these trades.
